About Us

Your Child Is In Great Hands

About us

Good Foundations is a charity run nursery based in Carlton. We take pride in ensuring each child gets the best quality of learning in a stimulating and welcoming environment.

One of our main focuses at Good Foundations is for the children to benefit from learning through play in a friendly and positive environment. Within the nursery we have four rooms dedicated to various age groups, with activities that are stimulating and appropriate for each child’s age and personal development. Our staff all take pride in working closely with the children and parents to ensure that each child is getting the best quality of learning to get them ready for when it's time to go to school! Good Foundations is a place for children to come and socialise with their friends, make new memories and to experience different ways of learning alongside each other.

Aims

We aim to provide a secure, caring and stimulating environment in which each child can develop to the best of his/her ability. Our friendly, highly trained staff are focused on providing a fun and loving environment.

Background

The Good Foundations Day Nursery opened on the 24th October 1995. The Day Nursery accommodates 72 children between the ages  of 6 weeks and 5 years old. We are OFSTED registered and all our staff have been Police checked by the DBS. We have a long-standing reliable staff team. In addition to this most of our staff are paediatric first aid trained. The nursery has an informal happy family atmosphere, which encourages children to settle easily. Parents can feel confident and relaxed knowing their children are receiving the best possible care.

Learning and development

We provide a play based curriculum which meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage which is a statutory requirement for all OFSTED registered settings. Play is essential to help children understand the world around them and to help their all around development. We observe the children's development and plan our curriculum around the interest of each child. Our routines are flexible to reflect the varying needs of the children. Your child will be encouraged to make choices, helping to develop their independence as well as taking part in some structured activities such as baking, creative play, group time and music play. We also have a secure garden for outdoor activities which is used daily.
